About me
I’m Taylor Raeburn-Gibson, a Canadian from Ontario with a diverse background spanning the Canadian military, private sector, and humanitarian aid. Over the past five years, I’ve worked for a United Nations organization on shelter and settlement projects, focusing on supporting those affected by conflicts and disasters.
My experience has also included volunteering with charities across Canada, from homeless shelters and refugee support centres to church-based community initiatives. These opportunities have given me a unique perspective on the complexities of both local and global aid efforts.
As I continue to explore the intricate world of humanitarian work, I will try to remember Alexander Pope’s words: “A little learning is a dangerous thing; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring.” I approach this field with curiosity and humility, knowing there’s much more to learn and understand.
Through this platform, I aim to share insights, provoke thoughtful discussions, and contribute to a deeper understanding of charitable giving and humanitarian work in Canada and beyond.
