This research highlights the unique complexities of post-conflict shelter self-recovery support and identifies ways of improving this support. This is done through a combination of a literature review and a case study of self-recovery support methods currently being employed in Syria. This research included 26 participant organizations who conduct shelter and self-recovery programming in Syria. The results of the research include a framework to understand the factors involved in shelter-self recovery in post-conflict situations as well as a list of recommendations for improving this approach.
